ABOUT

Sarah is a singer/songwriter from Christchurch, New Zealand. She has been performing since she was seven years old, having a passion for singing and musical theatre.  In her twenties, she discovered her love for ukulele and songwriting, and completed a Bachelor of Music Arts for Songwriting at Ara Institute. During her time at Ara, she wrote and produced two EP's and wrote, directed and performed in a one-act musical called 'Dear Mother'.  The songs she writes have a pop/folk/musical theatre vibe to them, and her style is quirky and eclectic - some songs are comical, some are sentimental. She loves her songs to tell stories across many different topics like lgbt+, disabilities, mental health and embracing individuality.

She is one third of the singer/songwriter band Angelfish, who have performed in various folk clubs and festivals such as the Geraldine Ukulele Festival and Canterbury Folk Festival.  Angelfish also perform two children's show called 'Animal Adventure' and 'Remarkable Sparklable Angelfish' which has toured around Christchurch libraries, A&P shows and the Bread & Circus Buskers Festival. They have also performed alongside NZ icon Suzy Cato.  Angelfish Kids music can be found on Spotify.

She is a classically trained singer, and can sing an array of musical genres such as opera, musical theatre, pop, jazz, folk, and many more.

Sarah is heavily involved in the Christchurch musical theatre scene, having performed many shows with Riccarton Players, Variety Theatre Ashburton, Musoc, and Christchurch Repertory.  She has been hired as a musical director for a number of shows with Variety Theatre Ashburton and has been a director for Riccarton Players.

She also performs with theatre group Off the Cuff entertainment with her father, performing skits and songs for corporate functions.
